Your Acupuncture Sessions

Between 4 and 6 sessions are usually needed before your pet really starts to feel the benefits.

Many conditions will respond to the first treatment.

Chronic (long- term) conditions may take longer for acupuncture to help. These conditions often take many months to develop, so it is unrealistic to expect that they will respond to one treatment.

The effect of each treatment builds on the effect of the previous ones, so we see a gradually increasing response as treatment continues.

Your First Acupuncture Session

Our first session includes:

  • Getting to know your pet
  • Evaluation of the pet’s veterinary history sent in by your vet alongside their Veterinary Referral Form.
  • Health check of your pet to ensure that they are suitable and safe for us to start acupuncture therapy.
  • Checking that your pet is happy to accept the very small acupuncture needles
  • Starting to use acupuncture to help them feel better.

We like it if you stay with your pet for acupuncture so you can see the process for yourself and be part of your pet’s therapy
